Long day in the sun

The thing about Salou is that it is a tourist beach town, but it's also a bustling port. So it's a bit different from the other beach vacay spots out there.

The other thing is, because it's not really a big spot on the map and it's an hour out of Barcelona, most of the tourists are Spanairds from other inland areas or other Eurpoean tourists who come back year after year. So it's less about sight seeing, more about relaxing & having a slow paced existence.

By the time I arrived in Cambrils & Salou beaches yesterday  it was already quite late at night so the sun was going down (as you can tell by all my shots). It means I couldn't take any pics of the turquoise water or the beach as such, but there were remnants of a long day in the sun!

Especially the familiar sight of british tourists who bake themselves into red lobsters. I used to see this every summer - bar none. I can't understand for the life of me what these crazy brits (and yes, it is only the brits who seem to do it) just want to lie in the sun all day when their skin is alabaster! Looking like a prawn cocktail is not a good look - in anyone's books! I especially love it when they join in on the whole topless sun baking thing (which everyone does in Spain) so they end up with bright red boobs too!
