I love the nightlife

So, who would have thought that some of the best little bars I'd have the pleasure of visiting would be in the middle of Windy Wellington?

For the Easter break I was lucky enough to make a quick trip across the Tasman. What met me on the other side was a whole of of gorgeous weather, great wine (to be expected) and some crazy company.

Seems like every new bar/restaurant/cafe you visit in Wellington have employed the nicest staff. I felt like I was eating & drinking with my old time mates, even if I'd only just met them. One waitress gave us free T-shirts she liked us so much! (Yes, they were trashy and will hardly serve as pyjamas, but that's not the point ok)

One of my favourites was the Foxglove down by the waterfront. Although, if you're after a more intimate (and wilder) time, head next door to the GreenBar. Amazeballs :)

One thing to watch out for... Wellington has ridiculous liquor licence rules! If you go there on a public holiday, you can't buy a drink without the 'main purpose of your visit' to be a meal. So, you basically have to buy grotty food as an excuse to get a cider... I guess it's not worse than the $30 cover charge for Marquee though right?
