Make yourself at home by Kylie Fuentes

So since I've decided that I love Rio so much that I must, must, must move here.... I thought I'd try and do a few of the things that any local resident would do.

First up, buy as much Havianas product as possible. There's even a full range Havianas store in downtown Copacabana. Several pairs of thongs with Brazilian logos on them? Check.

Next up, drink a coconut at a beach snack shack in Leblon. Check. So delicious and refreshing. The guy who sells them to you uses a really big knife, something that looks like a machete. Lucky he has a big beaming smile to get rid of any fears you might have!

Lastly, but definitely not least; ride a push bike around Zona Sul. Check. In fact, maybe we took this one too far. Ended up riding around on pushbikes for hours and did something like 30 ridiculous kms. Yep, legs & butt hurt today...

Ipanema night prowl by Kylie Fuentes

Ipanema and Leblon are the places where all the kool kats hang, and we're no exception :)

Nah, not really, but we thought we'd hang here to try and get some of the halo effect from their awesomeness. Yes, the girls here really do look like Gisele Bünchen and the guys here all look like they're from a mystical place. But there's no pretentiousness. Everyone here wears the same footwear. It's the common denominator. From homeless dudes smoking weed to the amazonian princess rockin micro minis, it's the home of Havianas. Even as the footwear of choice after dark.

Guess what my next purchase is going to be??? Lucky for me they'll come in handy on good old Bondi Beach!

Oh, and for the record. After dark looks amazing here too. Don't you think?
