Goodbyes are hard, so Sydney, this is just a see you later by Kylie Fuentes

I'm on the final countdown till I start the adventure of a lifetime, which will hopefully bring me lots of exciting new experiences, new people and endless new opportunities for photography inspiration! But before I go, I've been spending some time getting up close & personal with Sydney, the city I love so dearly.

First thing's first - the harbour. As any air traveller will tell you, there's not many more breathtaking (or welcoming!) sights than the view of Sydney harbour from the air as you fly over on a clear day. Since I couldn't do that this week, I opted to walk around the Greenwich wharf area instead for a cute water fix. I've also had the chance to do a few other Sydney-like things in the last few weeks; watch the Sydney Swans at the SFS, eat Sunday brunch at my favourite Tamarama cafe (god, I lived on their poached eggs, salmon & chutney on sourdough!), spent a sunny afternoon on the Corso over in Manly and of course am getting in as many visits to the plethora of small bars in Surry Hills & the city!

So, while I continue to rack up as many great Sydney experiences with friends as I can, I thought I'd post a couple of pics of the things that caught my eye around town along the way.

Are you ever too old (or too young) to sk8? by Kylie Fuentes

I'm not exactly sure when started obsessing over skateboards, but this old skool transport method is captivating me right now. Like obsessively. I don't know if it's just coincidence or if I'm just hunting the skaters out, but for some reason everywhere I look these days there's a skate park and some tricks on display.

I've even nagged a friend enough to get him to teach me a few things. Ok, granted. It's on a long board & we're talking Hyde Park not Bondi Skate Park. But still, you gotta start somewhere right? These pics are from a casual weekend skate comp I saw a few weeks back. The kid in the red was INCREDIBLE. He was throwing that board around with more finesse than any of the older dudes. I'm sure he wouldn't be impressed to find that the only pics I managed to snap of him were of his massive airborne stacks! But it made for cool pictures! And the little girl was ballsy. She was going tandem with some dude into the bowl. The lizard helmet surely making things seems much safer in her own mind...
