Concrete Jungle by Kylie Fuentes

While out and about I've noticed some really nice looking lines coming through the architecture in London. And what's more interesting is the contrast between new and old.

On the one hand you've got these Romanesque style grand historical buildings which are so detailed & ornate. On the other hand you see these stark 1970's (let's face it - the decade that Architecture students wish never happened) buildings which suck all the inspiration right out of you.

Having said that, I did find this one urban high density building which I couldn't resist to snap up. While the thought of actually living in this building depresses me beyond belief, it does look really cool from the street level. There's so much going on, it's like a Where's Wally scene. Can you spot him?

Breathing through the fear by Kylie Fuentes

Let me tell you, taking this picture was torture for me. Anyone who even remotely knows me can understand what I'm talking about.

The whole time I was in St James Park I thought I was going to die. And nope, it wasn't because of rioters, pickpockets, gangland activity or because I'm travelling alone all by myself. It's because the whole goddamned place is filled with birds. FILLED with the suckers.

At one point a stupid three year old kid came running along, thinking it would be fun to chase them through the park. This resulted in some kind of flying frenzy where the monsters were all whooshing past my head. I let go of all self control then started screaming in the middle of the park. Well, there goes the only scrapings of street cred I had...

But even in my dizzying heights of fear I could see that these amazing big birds - not sure if it's a duck or a goose or something else - whatever they are, need to be respected.

Did anyone say Oporto for dinner tonight? ;)
